HOW DOES COACHING WORK?
When you work with a coach, you get weekly guidance to help you with prioritizing, setting, planning and achieving your goals. Through the coaching experience, you'll become empowered as you learn how to take control of your child's physical, emotional & mental health one step at a time. Your coach serves as your personal nonjudgemental sounding board to help you identify and prioritize what goals you can work on that will fit into your and your chid's life NOW. Often, we set out to meet goals and later realize they aren't working or don't fit into our lives right now. Working with a coach can help you to figure out how to modify these goals or choose new ones that will work better for you and your family.

HOW DOES FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE HEALTH COACHING WORK?
There are a lot of different types of health coaches in the field. Many work like sports coaches, where the coach designs a plan with preset goals and deadlines for the individual to follow. Functional Medicine Health Coaching is different. It puts goal-setting and decision-making in the hands of the person being coached including parents, guardians and older children. Coaches work cooperatively to help them identify, prioritize, set, and meet their chosen goals. You'll learn how to identify, prioritize, set, and meet your goals for your child's health that fit into your life now. Over time, you'll modify goals and choose new ones as you continue on the journey to improved health for your child and family. Older children, who can be in control of their own decision making, can work with the coach to set goals important to them.
THE COACH'E ROLE:
To help parents explore how diet, sleep, stress and other lifestyle factors may be contributing to the root causes of their child's specific symptoms or chronic illness.
To provide education and guidance for parents. I don't devise a specific plan for parents to follow but help them to make a plan that best suits their child and family.
To work together with parents to identify the nutritional & lifestyle factors that they want to implement to help bring their child's body systems back into balance, such as diet/nutrition, movement, sleep and stress reduction.
To consider the whole child and respect them as an individual with individual genetics, history and personal needs.
To listen fully to your past experiences and current concerns regarding your child's health and your goals for them.
To serve as a personal nonjudgmental sounding board to help parents identify and prioritize what goals they can work on that will fit into their life NOW.
To believe in the parents ability to decide what changes they want to make for their child and family and when to make them and am here to support their choices.
